Biography :

Professor Ding joined the University of Birmingham in October 2013. Prior to his appointment at the University, he was Professor and Director of Institute of Particle Science and Engineering at the University of Leeds. His previous roles have included Imperial College London [1997 – 1999], University of Birmingham [1999 – 2001], and University of Science and Technology, Beijing [1988 – 1994]. He was the founding Director of the Joint Institute for Energy Storage Research between the University of Leeds and Institute of Process Engineering of Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Biography :

Wenping Cao (M’05-SM’11) received the B.Eng in electrical engineering from Beijing Jiaotong University, Beijing, China, in 1991, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical machines and drives from the University of Nottingham, Nottingham, U.K., in 2004. He is currently a Chair Professor of Electrical Power Engineering with Aston University, Birmingham, U.K., and also a Marie Curie Fellow with Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MA, U.S.A. His research interests include fault analysis and condition monitoring of electric machines and power electronics. Prof. Cao was the recipient of the Best Paper Award at the 2013 International Symposium on Linear Drives for Industry Applications (LDIA), the Innovator of the Year Award from Newcastle University, Newcastle upon Tyne, U.K., in 2013, and the Dragon’s Den Competition Award from Queen’s University Belfast in 2014. He serves as an Associate Editor for IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON INDUSTRY APPLICATIONS, IEEE Industry Applications Magazine and IET Power Electronics; he is also the Chief Editor for three Special Issues and one book, an Editor for Electric Power Components and Systems Journal as well as nine other International Journals. Prof. Cao is a Member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) and a Fellow of Higher Education Academy (HEA).

Biography :

Priyanka Mehta is the Project Manager at Eco Campus, Energy Research Institute at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. She manages projects dealing with energy modelling and simulation. Most of these projects are with Eco Campus Industry Collaborators. Her background is in Computer modelling and simulation, Data analytics and Geographical Information Systems. Her key interests lie in urban sustainability. Priyanka also has sound interest in understanding the nexus between different sectors of an urban environment. Prior to joining research, she was involved in working with consultants where most of the projects were with Singapore government agencies.

Dr. Mohamed Dahidah is Lecturer in Power Electronics, School of Engineering, Newcastle University. He completed his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering in 2008. He has also received Newcastle teaching award in the year, 2014. His research interests include Advanced Power Electronics Conversion Systems, Low-Frequency Transmission Systems, HVDC and FACTS based Converters, and Grid-connected Inverters.

Biography :

Michael Chai is a senior lecturer (Associate Professor) and Internet of Things Programme Lead for Joint Programme QMUL between Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications (BUPT), and a member in the Communication Systems Research Group at QMUL. His current research interests include dynamic resource management wireless communications, medium access control (MAC) for the machine to machine communications and networks, and sensing and prediction in distributed smart grid networks. His currently teach Telecom Systems, Internet Protocols and Networks and Protocols at QMUL and between QMUL and BUPT.

Biography :

Mohammad is currently a Research Fellow at the Department of Electrical Engineering & Electronics of the University of Liverpool. He is an Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering (Solar Systems and Machine Learning) on sabbatical leave from Applied Science Private University, Jordan. He received his B.Sc. and M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering (Communications and Electronics) from Jordan University of Science and Technology, Irbid, Jordan, in 2005 and 2006, respectively and the PhD degree from the University of Bradford in 2009. His research interests include smart and green buildings, solar PV applications, space weather and solar energy, computer vision, brain-computer interface and digital image processing.

Biography :

Mohammad Vaziri received BS EE- 1980, MS EE -1990, and Ph.D. EE - 2000 degrees from UC, Berkeley, CSU, Sacramento, and WSU, Pullman WA, respectively. He has 24 years of professional experience at PG&E, and CA ISO, and over 14 years of academic experience teaching at CSU Sacramento, CSU San Francisco, and WSU Pullman. Mohammad has authored and presented technical papers and courses in the US, Mexico, and Europe. He is a senior member of the IEEE, has been actively involved in funded research for integration of renewable resources, and serves as member/advisor on various technical committees. Currently, he is a faculty in the Electrical and Electronic Engineering department at the CSU Sacramento and a part-time technical consultant. Dr. Vaziri is a registered professional engineer in the state of California, and his research interests in the Power Systems area are; Operation, Planning, Protection, and Integration of Distributed Generation.

The organizers holds no responsibilities or liabilities of the personal articles of attendees at the venue against any kind of theft, lost, damage, due to any reason whatsoever. Delegates are entirely responsible for the safety of their own belongings.

Insurance:

No insurance, of any kind, is included along with the registration in any of the events of the organization.

Transportation:

Please note that transportation and parking is the responsibility of the registrant, Allied Academies will not be liable for any actions howsoever related to transportation and parking.

Press/Media:

Press permission must be obtained from Allied Academies Conference Organizing Committee prior to the event. The press will not quote speakers or delegates unless they have obtained their approval in writing. The Allied Academies is an objective third-party non-profit organization and this conference is not associated with any commercial meeting company.

Requesting an Invitation Letter:

For security purposes, letter of invitation will be sent only to those individuals who had registered for the conference after payment of complete registration fee. Once registration is complete, please contact powerenergymeet@alliedglobalevents.com to request for a personalized letter of invitation, if not received until one month before the scheduled date of event.

All the bank charges applicable during refund will be deducted from the account of participant.

Cancellation Policy:

All cancellations or modifications of registration must be made in writing to finance@alliedacademies.com If, due to any reason, Allied academies postpone an event on the scheduled date, the participant is eligible for a credit of 100% of the registration fee paid. This credit shall only be used for another event organized by Allied academies within period of one year from the date of rescheduling.

Postponement of event:

If, due to any reason, Allied academies postpone an event and the participant is unable or unwilling to attend the conference on rescheduled dates, he/she is eligible for a credit of 100% of the registration fee paid. This credit shall only be used for another event organized by Allied academies within period of one year from the date of rescheduling.

Transfer of Registration:

All registrations, after payment of complete registration fee, are transferable to other persons from the same organization, if in case the person is unable to attend the event. Request for transfer of registration must be made by the registered person in writing to support@alliedmeetings.com Details must include the full name of replaced new registrant, their title, contact phone number and email address. All other registration details will be assigned to the new person unless otherwise specified.

Registration can be transferred to one conference to another conference of Allied academies if the person is unable to attend one of conferences.

However, Registration cannot be transferred if intimated within 14 days of respective conference.

The transferred registrations will not be eligible for Refund.

Visa Information:

Keeping in view of increased security measures, we would like to request all the participants to apply for Visa as soon as possible.

Allied academies will not directly contact embassies and consulates on behalf of visa applicants. All delegates or invitees should apply for Business Visa only.

Important note for failed visa applications: Visa issues are not covered under the cancellation policy of Allied academies, including the inability to obtain a visa.

Refund Policy:

If the registrant is unable to attend, and is not in a position to transfer his/her participation to another person or event, then the following refund policies apply:

Keeping in view of advance payments towards Venue, Printing, Shipping, Hotels and other overhead charges, following Refund Policy Orders are available:

Before 60 days of the conference: Eligible for Full Refund after deduction of $100 towards service Fee.

Within 60-30 days of Conference: Eligible for 50% of payment Refund

Within 30 days of Conference: Not eligible for Refund

E-Poster Payments will not be refunded.

Accommodation Cancellation Policy:

Accommodation Service Providers (Hotels) have their own cancellation policies which are applicable when cancellations are made less than 30 days prior to arrival. If in case the registrant wishes to cancel or amend the accommodation, he/ she is expected to inform the organizing authorities on a prior basis. Allied academies will advise the registrant to ensure complete awareness about the cancellation policy of your accommodation provider, prior to cancellation or modification of their booking.
